About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Shutdown Planner to join our growing project team working across a broader shutdown management program for a remote coal mine in QLD. You’ll play a key role in ensuring effective planning and coordination of shutdown activities, supporting safe, timely, and cost-effective execution. This is a FIFO position from Brisbane on a 9-day fortnight roster (5/2/4/3), ideal for professionals looking for a consistent rhythm and time off. The initial engagement is for 6 months, with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

- You’ll coordinate with site maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to gather inputs for planning.
- Support the execution team during shutdowns by monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed.
- You’ll identify and mitigate risks that could impact timing or delivery, contribute to shutdown readiness reviews, and assist with post-shutdown evaluations.
- Regular reporting on progress, issues, and critical path impacts will also form part of your role.
Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, you’ll need proven experience in shutdown planning within the mining or heavy industry sector - coal experience is ideal. You should be proficient in scheduling tools, and have a solid understanding of shutdown processes, timelines, and resource management. Strong communication and coordination skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams in remote site environments. A trade or engineering background will be highly regarded.
